GLOUCESTER TOWNSHIP NJ–The Gloucester City 8u All- Star team took a short ride this
past week to Gloucester Township play in their last and final tournament of the summer. In pool play, Gloucester was set to play against the South Jersey Bulldogs, a team with kids from Washington Towship, Erial, Blackwood, Glassboro, & Harrison Township, and also Narberth Athletic Assocation, a Ripken Baseball team from Montgomery County in Pennsylvania.
Pool Play
In Game 1, Gloucester City took on the SJ Bulldogs and it didnt look good in the beginning.
Starting pitcher John Daily had a tough start as the Bulldogs pushed across 4 runs in the 1st inning, and it looked like the Gloucester pitching staff would have their hands full with the big time hitting Bulldogs. Gloucester would fight right back loading the bases in the bottom of the inning, but could only get 1 run back, and trailed 4-1.
