Brooklawn Police Arrest Three Suspects for Allegedly Stealing AC Condensing Coils from Shopping Center Roof | cnbnews.net

Brooklawn Police report on September 17 at approximately 0034 Hrs., an officer observed a suspicious \"Bpdpatch\" vehicle, which was occupied by three people, leaving the rear of the Brooklawn Shopping Center. The vehicle was observed with air conditioning condensing coils hanging out of the trunk and stacked on the rear seat. The vehicle was stopped in the lot of Budget Inn on Route 130 in Gloucester City.

Further investigation revealed that the two passengers in the vehicle, Jennie Paterna and Charles Wackes walked to the rear of the Brooklawn Shopping Center and scaled the rear of the building to gain access to the roof. Once they got onto the roof they began removing the condensing coils to seven air conditioning units that belonged to Dollar Tree, John’s Pizza, and the Cleaners. Paterna and Wackes were assisted by John Munyan when he arrived on location with his vehicle. The suspects were only able to load four of the condensing coils into the vehicle and left three behind. The suspects were all transported to police headquarters for processing and the vehicle was impounded.

The estimated cost of damage to the units caused by the suspects is over $35,000.

John E. Munyan Age: 45 of the 1600 block of Kindle Ave of Deptford
Charges: Theft, Criminal Mischief, Possession of Burglary Tools
Outcome: Remanded to the Camden County Correctional Facility in default of bail.

Charles E. Wackes 5th Age: 42 of the unit block of Elmwood Ave. of Gloucester City
Charges: Theft, Criminal Mischief, Possession of Burglary Tools
Outcome: Remanded to the Camden County Correctional Facility in default of bail.

Jennie E. Paterna Age: 30 of the unit block of Elmwood Ave in Gloucester City
Charges: Conspiracy to commit theft.
Outcome: Released on her own recognizance
