GLOUCESTER CITY NJ–On August 28, 2014 at 6:15 pm patrol officers stopped a vehicle on N. Broadway at King Street. A K-9 Unit was brought to the scene to conduct an open air narcotics search around the exterior of the vehicle resulting in a positive indication for the presence of narcotics odor emanating from the vehicle. The vehicle was impounded and the driver and passenger were detained while officers applied for a search warrant. After a search warrant was obtained, officers searched the vehicle and seized just under 1 oz. of heroin from a hidden compartment in the vehicle and $2,690.00 in cash. Eric Barnes (29) and James E. Stanley Jr. (29), both residents of Camden, were arrested and charged with distribution of CDS. They were both remanded to Camden County Jail after failing to post $25,000 bail.
