During WNYC\’s pledge drive this morning, we heard the station congratulate itself on the restraint displayed in its Morning Brief headline: \”Stay Calm: New Yorkers Are Not at Risk of Catching Ebola from the Patient at Bellevue.\” A far cry from the NY Post\’s \”Ebola Here!\” cover, replete with cops in hazmat suits. Although, if you think of it, that\’s actually pretty restrained for the Post, from which we might have expected, \”We\’re All Going to Die!\” Trending on Twitter: panic hyperbole, our favorite being this one.
