Laurel, Delaware man arrested on drug charges at Trap Pond State Park

 

LAUREL (Oct. 2, 2014) – Following an investigation into an illegally parked vehicle at Trap Pond State Park near Laurel, DNREC Natural Resources Police, Delaware State Parks Enforcement rangers on Sept. 29 arrested a Sussex County man on drug charges.

Dakota A. Price, 22, of Laurel, was arrested and charged with one count of felony possession of a controlled substance, two counts misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia, one count of possessing/consuming a controlled or counterfeit illegal substance, and one count of unauthorized use of a state park area. Fifty-one baggies of suspected heroin, multiple drug syringes and other controlled substances were seized as evidence by rangers in a search of the suspect and the vehicle.

Price was arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court 3 in Georgetown and committed to Sussex Correctional Institution in Georgetown in lieu of $11,000 secured bond, plus $10,000 cash bond for an outstanding New Castle Superior Court capias. Trial is pending at a later date.
