Storms leave many intersections without power or signals
(Trenton) – New Jersey Department of Transportation (NJDOT) officials today sent 25 light tower generators and two electrical crews to South Jersey in the wake of yesterday’s storms.
Severe storms struck South Jersey last night leaving thousands of residents and businesses in the dark and dozens of intersections without power. The generators and crews from NJDTO’s North and Central Regions will augment the Department’s Southern Region personnel in bringing the lights back on at these intersections and repairing damaged structures.
\”The Department divides the state into three regions,\” NJDOT Commissioner Jamie Fox said. \”When we have incidents like this we can move assets around the state to best serve those regions in need. NJDOT has gotten very good at this process and we will have those intersections up and running again as quickly as possible.\”
