George H. Sturgis, Jr., of Westville died on November 21 at home surrounded by his loving family. He was 84. Born raised in Gloucester City he attended St. Mary’s Grammar School and was a graduate of Gloucester City High School, class of 1949. George served in the National Guard for 4 years.
George retired from Coastal Eagle Point Plant in Westville, where he worked as a dockman for 35 years. He loved spending time with his family, especially during the holidays. He loved a good joke and could always get every one in the family to smile. He also enjoyed reading the newspaper and watching game shows. He was known to do good deeds in the neighborhood in his late years and took great pride in caring for his house and yard.
