Dear Gloucester City Residents & Friends,
As we kick off a new year, we hope everyone enjoyed a joyful holiday season spent with family, friends, and loved ones. Warm wishes go out to every resident of Gloucester City and our friends and visitors for a healthy, happy, and prosperous year ahead. As we begin this new chapter together, we reflect with pride on the progress and momentum our community built in 2025.
Over the past year, Gloucester City celebrated several major milestones. Our Police Department achieved state re-accreditation, a significant achievement that underscores a strong commitment to professionalism, community policing, and public safety. Our local economy continued to grow, with many new businesses opening their doors, including a wave of new eateries that add flavor and vitality to our city.
Our community events calendar was one of the most exciting in recent memory. From the beloved St. Patrick’s Parade to family‑friendly gatherings in Proprietors Park and a lively summer concert series, residents and visitors alike came together again and again to celebrate tradition, creativity, and community spirit.
We also made visible progress in improving our public spaces and neighborhoods. Streetscape enhancements, revitalization grants through programs like the Neighborhood Preservation Program (NPP) and Urban Enterprise Zone (UEZ) and ongoing improvements across the city helped strengthen the look, feel, and function of our shared spaces. Communication with residents continued to expand through our new e‑newsletter, social media updates, and our first town hall meeting—all important steps toward building stronger, more transparent connections with the community.
As we look ahead to 2026, we do so with optimism and determination. The coming year will bring continued focus on expanding housing opportunities, supporting local business marketing programs, enhancing community events, and strengthening code enforcement and public safety. We will also continue investing in public spaces and communication tools to ensure every resident feels informed, included, and proud of the place they call home.
In the year ahead, we remain committed to working hand‑in‑hand with organizations and community members across Gloucester City, including our schools, business associations, civic groups, and dedicated volunteers. These partnerships strengthen every corner of our community. By expanding these collaborative partnerships and encouraging even greater resident involvement, we can continue building a city that reflects our shared values, supports local opportunity, and ensures Gloucester City is the best it can be for all who call it home.
Thank you for your continued support, engagement, and commitment to Gloucester City. Wishing you and your loved ones a wonderful New Year filled with opportunity and success.
Warm regards,
Dayl Baile
