Rowan’s Corson, Rothwein & Hester Earn NJAC Honors

Rowan women’s lacrosse players Elaina Corson and Madison Rothwein, and men’s track athlete Damitrius Hester have earned weekly honors as given by the NJAC. 

Corson (Hainesport, NJ/Rancocast Valley Regional)  was named the NJAC Women’s Lacrosse Offensive Player of the Week for the second time this year as she totaled 14 goals, three assists, four ground balls, four draw controls and five caused turnovers in the #19 Profs’ two wins on their Spring Break trip to Tennessee. The senior attacker scored a season-high nine goals and added two assists in the 18-5 win at Sewanee. She followed that with five goals and one assist in the 17-12 win at Rhodes

Corson currently tops Rowan in scoring with 40 goals and 11 assists. 

Rothwein (Mount Royal, NJ/Kingsway Regional) earned NJAC Defensive Player of the Week honors as compiled six goals, seven ground balls, 10 draw controls and seven caused turnovers in the two wins. The midfielder had three goals, five ground balls, five caused turnovers and nine draw controls in the win at Sewanee. She picked up three goals and two ground balls in the victory over Rhodes. 

It marks the second time this season that the sophomore has earned NJAC weekly recognition. 

The #18 Profs (6-2) embark on a Top 25 showdown on Wednesday when they visit #13 Franklin & Marshall. 

Hester (Mahwah, NJ/Mahwah) was named the NJAC Field Athlete of the Week for men’s outdoor track & field as the junior broke the school record in the javelin in his season debut at the Stockton Invitational.  He topped out at 72.04 meters for a new program mark and the #7 all-time Division III result to win the event. The previous mark was 70.39 set in 2022 by Greg Poloso.

Rowan’s full team will compete at Widener’s Danny Curran Invitational on March 27-28.
