Route 42 is scheduled to have lane closures at Black Horse Pike/Route 168 on Monday night to implement a long-term left lane closure in Gloucester Township, Camden County.
Beginning at 8 p.m. Monday, April 13 until 6 a.m. Tuesday, April 14, the left and center lanes on Route 42 northbound are scheduled to be closed at Black Horse Pike/Route 168. The lane closures are necessary to place barrier and implement a long-term left lane closure. At least one lane will be maintained overnight.
By 6 a.m. Tuesday, April 14, the center lane will be reopened, and the left lane will remain closed for approximately two weeks. The lane closure is necessary to replace median guiderail and construct concrete sidewalk to improve pedestrian safety. Motorists are advised to slow down, use caution and expect delays when traveling through the work zone.
This work is part of a $6.3 million federally funded contract that will replace guiderail and attenuator at various locations throughout Atlantic, Burlington, Camden, Cape May, Cumberland, Gloucester and Salem counties.
The precise timing of the work is subject to change due to weather or other factors. Motorists are encouraged to check NJDOT’s traffic information website www.511nj.org for construction updates and real-time travel information and for NJDOT news follow us on X (Twitter) @NewJerseyDOT, on the NJDOT Facebook page, or Instagram @NewJersey.DOT.
