Update on Non-fatal Shooting Investigation

On Wednesday, July 8, 2026, at approximately 12:09 p.m., officers from the 14th District responded to the area of the 5700 block of Boyer Street for a report of a stabbing. Upon arrival, officers located an adult male suffering from an apparent chest wound and immediately transported him to Albert Einstein Medical Center. During treatment, medical personnel determined the victim had sustained a gunshot wound to the chest. He is currently listed in stable condition.

The preliminary investigation determined the shooting occurred on the 900 block of East Price Street, where officers located the victim’s black 2022 Honda CR-V. Investigators learned the victim, who works as a car service driver, had responded to the location to pick up a passenger. As he arrived, he was approached by an unknown Black male, believed to be between 16 and 18 years old. The suspect initially opened the vehicle’s rear passenger door before closing it and moving to the front passenger door. Upon opening the front passenger door, the suspect announced a robbery and produced a blue handgun. The victim attempted to exit the vehicle and flee when he heard a single gunshot. He was struck once in the chest. No property was taken during the attempted robbery.

The suspect approached the victim from behind but did not leave the property located on the 900 block of East Price Street.

The suspect is described as a Black male, approximately 16 to 18 years old, with a thin build and clean-shaven face. He was last seen wearing a red and black hooded sweatshirt and black pants.

The investigation remains ongoing with the Shooting Investigation Group.
