Four men from Camden and Gloucester counties were arrested and charged with attempting to meet with an underage girl to engage in sexual conduct after chatting online, reported Camden County Prosecutor Grace C. MacAulay.
Richard Williamson, 69, of Sewell, and Daniel Henderson Jr., 38, of Lindenwold, were both charged with 2nd – degree Attempting to Lure a Child, 2nd – degree Attempted Sexual Assault of a Minor, 2nd – degree Attempted Prostitution with a Minor, and 3rd – degree Attempted Endangering the Welfare of a Child. Additionally, they were each charged with two counts of Engaging in Prostitution (a disorderly person’s offense).
Gilbert Wylen, 69, of Audubon, was charged with 2nd – degree Attempting to Lure a Child, two counts of 2nd – degree Attempted Sexual Assault of a Minor, 2nd – degree Attempted Prostitution with a Minor, 3rd – degree Attempted Criminal Sexual Contact of a Minor, and 3rd – degree Attempted Endangering the Welfare of a Child. He was also charged with two counts of Engaging in Prostitution (a disorderly person’s offense). Theodore Haviland, 52, of Woodbury Heights, was charged with 2nd – degree Attempting to Lure a Child, 2nd – degree Attempted Sexual Assault of a Minor, and 3rd – degree Attempted Endangering the Welfare of a Child.
During investigations conducted in March 2026 and June 2026, the four defendants had been communicating online with a person they believed to be an underage girl. However, the person actually chatting with them was an undercover detective from the Camden County Prosecutor’s Office High Tech Crimes Unit. During their individual conversations and in four separate instances, the men each arranged a meeting at a specified location in Brooklawn for the purpose of engaging in sexual activity with the underage girl. Additionally, Williamson, Henderson, and Wylen each told the underage girl they would pay amounts of money ranging from $80 to $200 to engage in sexual activity with her.
Once each man arrived at the meeting location, they were taken into custody by members of the Brooklawn Borough Police Department and the Camden County Prosecutor’s Office. Williamson and Henderson were arrested on March 13, 2026. Wylen and Haviland were arrested on June 23, 2026. They were all remanded to the Camden County Correctional Facility.
