Commissioner Jeffrey Nash will join local elected officials to break ground on the next section of the Camden County LINK Trial, a 0.4-mile segment from Somerdale Road to Wakonda Road that will stretch from Somerdale to Hi-Nella.
This is the second LINK Trail section to enter construction in 2026, following the ongoing development of a 1.1-mile segment between Merchant Street in Audubon and Station Avenue in Haddon Heights. The project is being funded in part through a $525,000 Bikeways Grant from the New Jersey Department of Transportation. Construction is expected to begin on August 3 and will be completed in 180 days.
“Breaking ground on two sections of the LINK Trail in a single year shows the momentum behind this project, and the Board of Commissioners’ commitment to expanding safe, accessible spaces for passive recreation and transportation,” said Commissioner Jeffrey Nash, liaison to the Camden County Parks Department. “I am thrilled to see this project continue to progress, and it will be a wonderful amenity for Hi-Nella and Somerdale residents.”
Once completed, the LINK Trail is expected to deliver significant economic and public health benefits throughout Camden County and the surrounding communities. According to an economic analysis completed in 2025, the fully built-out LINK Trail is projected to create between 135 and 201 new permanent full- and part-time jobs and generate between $19.8 million and $29.6 million in annual economic output for Camden County and its municipalities through spending by non-local trail users.
About the Camden County LINK Trail:
The Camden County LINK Trail is a planned 34-mile multi-use, off-road trail designed to serve as the “spine” for a County-wide trail network, that will extend from the Benjamin Franklin Bridge in Camden to the Gloucester County line in lower Winslow Township.
