Michael McGuire, the Republican candidate for Congress in New Jersey’s 3rd District, conceded the race today and congratulated Rep. Herb Conaway on his re-election.
McGuire, a Marine veteran, Naval Reservist and retired NYPD officer, campaigned on lowering costs for working families, and championing policies that promote public safety. He spent months meeting voters across Burlington, Mercer and Monmouth counties and pressing Conaway to debate him directly.
“Congratulations to Congressman Conaway for his victory,” McGuire said. “I am grateful to every person across Burlington, Mercer and Monmouth counties who stood with this campaign. Service does not end when a race does, and I will keep showing up for New Jersey families.“
McGuire thanked his family, volunteers and supporters for their work throughout the campaign, saying the fight for affordability, accountability and public safety will continue.
“This campaign was always about service over self-interest,” McGuire continued. “I am not a politician, and I will keep working for the people of New Jersey in whatever way I can.“
