Fishing Report from Capt. Bob Bevan

The \”Gracie\” has been laid up for the last few weeks with engine problems, but she is now \”ready to go\”. We\’ll be taking her out for Mako\’s this Saturday.

In the meantime, flounders are in and Scott and his wife Deneen, along with John and Terry Flynn connected with nine keeper flounders up to 22\”. They fished from a small boat out in the Stone Harbor back bays.

Stripers are on their way out. Poverty Beach in Cape May has been hot and cold. Babe Berglund took a nice 42\” bass from the surf on Saturday night.

Weak fish have been taken around the rocks on the Cape May jetties. Some fish up to 10 lbs., but it\’s nothing like the old days. The artificial reefs have been spotty, good one day and nothing the next day. The water temperature is up to 64 degrees in the ocean and above 67 degrees in the Bay.

Looking at our log from last year, flounder should be appearing around 19 buoy for the next three weeks. Still have some weekends open. To book a charter, call Eva-Parker Fishing Charters at 856-456-5511. Until later, keep a tight line.
