It was a quiet night; the temperature was 80 degrees with a light breeze. The ball field was packed with parents, grandparents, siblings, and friends alike on both sides. Our American Flag was flying high above, the concession stands were open, and it was time to \”play ball\”.

For the first time in its 55 year history, Mount Ephraim has won a District 14 Little League championship. Wade Geis had 11 strikeouts and Mike McHugh came in to get the save as the senior all star team beat Gloucester City, 7 to 4, at a game played under the lights at the Johnson Boulevard Fields on Thursday, July 12. Geis helped himself out with two hits and two RBI\’s, Don Eaise added two hits and Matt McLean scored twice and continued his leadership behind the plate as Mount Ephraim went undefeated in the tournament.

The Little League boys senior team did an awesome job! Congratulations to everyone who has had a part in these boys\’s Little League career throughout the years. Both teams have had an incredible season up to this game.

Mount Ephraim\’s next game will be played this Monday (July 16) at the Johnson Boulevard Field, Gloucester City against another District Championship Team Winner unknown at the time of this post. The results will be announced following the game on The NOTEBOOK.
