The memorial, in the works since October 2002, features two walkways leading to three large marble stones — one for each of the men and one in the center, featuring a black and white picture of two firefighter helmets.
The committee raised about $50,000 of the $65,000 it cost to build the memorial. Most of the money came from the sale of memorial bricks, fundraising golf outings and individual donations. Members hope to raise the remaining $15,000 by selling more bricks.
