Gertrude Sis McIntyre, of West Deptford, volunteer at Underwood Memorial Hospital & Shore Memorial Hospital

McIntyre, Gertrude \”Sis\” passed away on May 17, 2008 , after a courageous battle with Alzheimer\’s Disease surrounded by her loving family at Sunrise Assisted Living.

Sis is the loving and devoted wife of 54 years to the late John \”Skip\” McIntyre.

Loving mother of Janet, John (Cheryl), Joseph( Danette) , Jean, Martin (Dee), Tom (Marlene), Robert and Edward McIntyre.

Dear sister of the late Thomas Russo

Loving grandmother of 11. Great grandmother of 5.

Although her family was her greatest joy, Sis spent many years helping others as a volunteer at Underwood Memorial Hospital, Woodbury and Shore Memorial Hospital , Somers Point. She and her family were faithful members of St. Anne\’s Roman Catholic Church as well as, Incarnation and St. Patrick\’s Church. She enjoyed reading, shopping and watching game shows, as well as the Flyers. Even though her final years were difficult, she will leave her children wonderful and cherished memories as well as the gifts of faith and laughter.

Funeral arrangements under the direction of the McGUINNESS FUNERAL HOME, 34 Hunter Street, Woodbury.

Interment Eglington Cemetery, Clarksboro, NJ.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Holy Redeemer Hospice, 150 9th Avenue, Runnemede, NJ 08078 or to the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, 642 Market Street, Camden, NJ 08102; attn: Msgr. Michael Mannion, in her memory.
