On Thursday, June 19 the Brooklawn Board of Education will hold its June meeting at 7:00 PM. At this meeting School Board President Bruce Darrow will introduce to the Board an Inter Local Service agreement between the Board of Education and the Borough of Brooklawn.
The Board of Education in April gave Board President Bruce Darrow the authority to negotiate with the Borough of Brooklawn an agreement in which the local Board would give the Borough of Brooklawn $100,000 for services to be provided.
The Board\’s decision to work out this agreement of $100,000 will help reduce the Tax Burden on the community.
Board President Bruce Darrow stated \”that our Board has gone nearly 10 years without ANY tax increase to our residents and with this agreement we have again showed yet another way to the taxpayers we are intent on providing an exceptional education in a safe and friendly learning environment without any reduction in our staff while helping the Borough reduce their tax increase.\”
In April the Board of Education approached the Borough of Brooklawn in hopes of reducing the Borough\’s budget deficit. This agreement if approved by the Board should reduce any tax intended tax increase by the Borough of Brooklawn.
After several months of negotiations between both parties the final draft is ready for the Board of Education’s approval.
