James F. Dickson
DICKSON, James F. Age 71, of Millville, NJ, formerly of Glassboro, passed away on Sunday, February 15, 2009 at his home. Born in Gloucester City, NJ, he was a long-time resident of Glassboro before moving to Millville a few months ago. Jim was highly regarded for his praying spirit, kindness, generosity and dedication to God and his family. He was employed for 28 years by NJ Transit as a bus mechanic and for 7 years by the Borough of Glassboro Highway Department. He served with both the US Army and the NJ Army National Guard.He was an avid outdoorsman, especially fishing, and loved doing things with his family.
He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Carol; 2 sons, Michael J. and his wife, Patricia of Pitman, Adam H. and his wife, Christina of Glassboro; his mother Albertina Dickson of Blackwood; 3 sisters, Mary Lou McWilliams (Frank) of Phoenix, AZ, Margaret Viveiros (Daniel) of Gloucester City, Kathleen Benoit (Ray) of Williamstown; 1 grandson, Michael J., Jr.; and 1 great granddaughter, Serenity Daisy. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, February 21, 2009, at 11:00 AM in the Church of St. Bridget, 125 Church St., Glassboro, NJ.
Friends may call Friday evening from 7:00 – 9:00 PM and Saturday from 9:30 – 10:30 AM in the MATHIS FUNERAL HOME, 43 N. Delsea Dr., Glassboro. Burial will be in Manahath Cemetery, Glassboro. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate contributions to St. Mary Magdalen Parish, 621 Dock St., Millville, NJ 08332.
