PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – Fred Tuwei (jr. Nairobi, Kenya/Kaptel) won the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Cross Country championship at the
Belmont Plateau on Saturday afternoon. The Holy Family University men’s team finished sixth, while the women took home eighth.
Tuwei is the first runner from Holy Family to claim the conference title, since cross country became a sport at the school in 2000. He fought through the rain and mud to post a time of 26:57.48 to win the event by 32 seconds. Tuwei, who won his fifth event meet of the season, also was named the CACC runner of the year.
