Joseph A. \”Pop\” McKenna, His Passions in Life…Kids and Sports

\"6a00d8341bf7d953ef0115724332f3970b-120wi\" Joseph A. \”Pop\” McKenna of West Deptford died on February 7, 2010 at the age of 63.

Joe\’s two passions in life were kids and sports. His 40 year legacy of devotion to community sports in West Deptford touched the lives of many area children. He was Instrumental in forming the first West Deptford Midget Football program, St. Matthew\’s Father\’s Club and the Gloucester Catholic Home Run Club.

Joe was also active with the Baseball and the Wrestling Association. He was honored to receive a Lifetime Achievement Award for volunteering from West Deptford. Prior to retirement, Joe was employed with Atlas Building Systems as a Quality Control Manager.

Pop will be long remembered as a hard-nosed, dedicated man who freely gave of himself; and loved and encouraged his grandchildren as well as everyone he\’s coached through the years.

He is the beloved husband of Patricia (nee Barrett); devoted father of Sean M. McKenna, Sr. (Susan) and Jillian Kaminski (John); loving grandfather of Zachary, Kyle, Shea, Cole and the late Sean, Jr.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewing Thurs. 6:30-9 PM and Fri. 8:30-9:15 AM in the McGuinness Funeral Home, 34 Hunter St., Woodbury. Funeral Mass Fri. 10 AM in St. Matthew RC Church, National Park.

Interment New Saint Mary\’s Cemetery, Bellmawr.
