Mr. Simila grew up in Gloucester City, where he attended local schools. He enjoyed playing poker, and shooting darts and playing pool. Ed loved hunting and fishing and belonged to several gun clubs in the Chatsworth/Batso New Jersey area. Besides deer hunting in New Jersey, he also chased the \”Grey Ghost\” in the state of Maine and New York as well as Florida. He belonged to the Gloucester City Breakfast Club.

\”Ed had a great sense of humor,\” said his friend Bill Cleary. \”He was quick with a joke and had a twinkle in his eyes whenever he smiled. He enjoyed hunting, and he especially liked using a muzzleloader. He also loved to fish. Ed will be greatly missed by all who knew him. My condolences to his daughter.\”

 The indictment returned MAY 24, 2015 contains four counts of third-degree animal cruelty (N.J.S.A. 4:22-17c (2) ) said to have resulted in the death of four horses, \”specifically, by failing to provide the necessary care as directed by veterinarians to address several health issues.\” The five remaining counts are fourth-degree charges that accuse Thors of causing serious bodily injury, also by failure to provide care, to four horses and a goat.

Thors is scheduled for a pre-arraignment interview in the Superior Court’s Criminal Case Management offices on JULY 8, 2015. She is represented by attorney Larye N. Radley of the Gloucester County Public Defender’s office. 

WOODBURY NJ –Chavis A. Jones (DOB 4/4/95), of Sewell NJ pleaded guilty today to participating in armed robberies of two Washington Township NJ convenience stores and a Glassboro NJ pizza shop on 3/31/14.

 Jones acknowledged that he stole a cigar at Yogi’s Quick Stop in Washington Township while two codefendants robbed the store of cash, one of them wielding a handgun. He split the proceeds with the other, Jones said.
