Obituary: J. Kenneth Davis formerly of Audubon

On June 21, 2015, formerly of Audubon, NJ and Salem County, NJ. Age 81 years. Beloved husband of 45 years to Mary O. Davis (nee Chipman). Dear father of Rosemarie (Michael) Ball, Michael (Silvia) Murphy and James Davis. Loving grandfather of Emma Ball and Mandy Murphy. Brother of Edna (Winfred) Richie and brother-in-law to Herbert (Doris) Chipman and the late Robert (Elizabeth) Chipman.

Mr. Davis was a 1970 graduate of Rutgers University, Camden, NJ with a B.A. in History. He was a longtime employee of the Camden County Board of Social Services. He was an active member of Greyhound Friends of NJ where he fostered many dogs and was also active in Therapy Dogs, Inc. where he volunteered with dogs for nursing and pediatric facilities.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his visitation on Thursday, July 2nd, 10 to 11 AM at the FOSTER-WARNE FUNERAL HOME, 250 White Horse Pike, Audubon, NJ. Memorial service will follow at 11 AM. Interment private.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Alliance of Therapy Dogs (www.therapydogs.com).

Delaware to participate in Operation Dry Water June 26-28


to prevent alcohol-related boating accidents and save lives

 

DOVER (June 24, 2015) – DNREC’s Division of Fish & Wildlife Natural Resources Police today announced Delaware’s active participation in Operation Dry Water, an annual nationwide enforcement and education event aimed at preventing alcohol and drug-related boating accidents and fatalities. Over the June 26-28 weekend before the Fourth of July holiday, Fish & Wildlife officers will increase their presence on Delaware’s waterways to educate boaters and crack down on operators whose blood alcohol level exceeds the state and federal limit of 0.08 percent.

June 24, 2015– A Woolwich Township, New Jersey, man today admitted scamming distressed homeowners into giving him their houses and then soliciting fake real estate investments from private investors – secured by those same properties – that netted him more than $3 million in illicit profits, U.S. Attorney Paul J. Fishman announced.

Randy Poulson, 44, pleaded guilty before U.S. District Judge Renée Marie Bumb in Camden federal court to Count One of an indictment charging him with mail fraud.

OFFICER DOWN: Sergeant Korby Kennedy, San Angelo Police Department, Texas

San Angelo, TX JUNE 24, 2015–Sergeant Korby Kennedy was killed in a motorcycle crash on Knickerbocker Road, near Albert Street, while escorting a parade at approximately 6:00 pm.

He and other officers were escorting a parade of boats for the upcoming San Angelo Drag Boat Races. He was traveling on Knickerbocker Road when a vehicle pulled out of a parking lot into his path. He was transported to Shannon Medical Center, where he succumbed to his injuries.
