MOUNT VERNON, GA–Sheriff Ladson O\’Connor was in killed a in a vehicle crash during a pursuit of two subjects on Highway 56 near the Toombs County / Montgomery County line at approximately 1:00 am.

The pursuit started in Toombs County when deputies attempted to stop the vehicle. The vehicle fled as its occupants fired shots at the pursuing Toombs County deputies. Sheriff O\’Connor joined the pursuit near the county line. His vehicle let the roadway and struck a tree, causing him to suffer fatal injuries.

The female subject in the car was arrested a short time later. The male subject was arrested approximately eight hours later following a large manhunt.

Sheriff O\’Connor is survived by his wife and four children.

Somerset, Burlington, Cumberland, Warren, and Gloucester Counties

West Trenton, N.J. – The New Jersey State Police and partnering domestic violence advocacy groups are seeking volunteers for Domestic Violence Response Teams (DVRT) in Cumberland County.

Volunteer advocates work in conjunction with police, county prosecutor’s offices, and private organizations to provide support, information, referrals, and a safety plan to victims of domestic violence.

GLOUCESTER TOWNSHIP NJ June 16, 2015–On 06-15-2015 at approximately 09:40 hours Gloucester Township Police Communications received two 911 calls from employees inside the Rite Aid Store reporting an armed robbery.

Gloucester Township Police Units quickly arrived on location and immediately placed three nearby schools on Lock-Out; Glen Landing Middle School, Loring Flemming Elementary School, and the Mother Goose Learning Center. Gloucester Township Police officers were posted at each school during the Lock-Out to ensure the safety of both the students and staff.
