GLOUCESTER CITY NJ February 1, 2015 at 10:59AM–Gloucester City Police arrested a suspect for a robbery in the 500 block of Mercer Street after a resident reported a male entered his enclosed front porch on January 31^st at approximately 2:49 pm, placed several items from the porch in a bag and left the area. The incident was recorded on his home surveillance system and a copy of the video was provided to the officer. The officer positively identified the male as Patrick Merrill (56), a resident of the 800 block of Mercer Street. A warrant was issued for Merrill for burglary and theft and on February 2^nd. at 10:52 am Merrill was arrested on Broadway and Monmouth Street. He was later remanded to Camden County Jail in default of bail.

In other matters, 

The Gloucester Township Police Department deployed Narcan kits to every police vehicle in early 2014. Since then officers have revived and saved the lives of eight people. To continue the fight against the ongoing heroin epidemic, the Gloucester Township Police Department created Project SAVE, which is proving to be extremely successful. An integral component of Project SAVE is having a licensed alcohol and drug counselor in the Gloucester Township Municipal Court Room which has resulted in eleven persons entering residential treatment to help them fight their addictions which brought them to a life of crime.

RELEASED FEBRUARY 3, 2015 PHILADELPHIA PA–South Detectives Division is looking to identify and located the suspect who robbed the in South Philadelphia.

On January 22, 2015, at 9:00 pm, the complainant, a 28 year-old male along with the w witness, a 27 year-old female, were working inside the Feng Hong Mini Market located at 2119 South 10th Street when an unknown male entered the store pointing a handgun at the complainant demanding money. After the complainant opened the cash register and gave the offender an undetermined amount of money, the suspect forced the complainant on the floor and fled and was last seen south on 10th Street towards Jackson Street. There are no injuries reported at the time of this incident. SEE VIDEO BELOW

PHILADELPHIA PA–South Detective Division is looking to identify and locate the suspect for a residential burglary in Riverfront.

On January 22, 2015, at 1:50 pm, an unknown male was captured on surveillance video casing a residence on the 6xx block of South Front Street. After several minutes the suspect gains entry to the foyer in an attempt to take packages but when confronted by the complainant the suspect flees the area. (SEE VIDEO BELOW)

In 1836, The Sisters of St. Joseph began \”their missionary\” work in America when they responded to the request of Bishop Joseph Rosati, CM, the first bishop of St. Louis. In St. Louis, the Sisters established a school for Native American and Deaf children.

The Sisters arrived in Philadelphia in 1847 to staff St. John’s Orphanage and because of their willingness to engage in various ministries, they soon became known by \”their spirit ready for any good work.\”
