Milton Miller IV Off to Prison for Robbery; Used Baseball Bat as a Weapon

WOODBURY NJ– Milton E. Miller IV, of Woodbury NJ, who pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit robbery of a Woodbury man at the victim’s apartment on 7/23/14 using a baseball bat as a weapon, was sentenced today (12/12) to five years in New Jersey state prison.

The sentence requires Miller to serve 85 percent of the prison term before he can be considered for parole, Superior Court Judge Kevin T. Smith said, noting that the defendant seemed to have learned little from a long history of criminal offenses.

Multiple detours in place for overnight work on both roadways


(Trenton) – New Jersey Department of Transportation (NJDOT) officials today announced a series of overnight lane and ramp closures on Route 42 northbound and I-295 northbound and southbound beginning tonight in Bellmawr, Camden County as part of the Direct Connection project. Motorists should slow down, use caution, and expect overnight delays in the area.

Camden County Library Sets New Books-for-Kids Holiday Record

 

Thanks to generosity of public over 3,000 books to be given out this year

VOORHEES, NJ – Dec. 10, 2014 – The Camden County Library is pleased and proud to report its annual Books for Kids holiday campaign has set a new record this year by collecting 3,274 books. It broke the old record of 2,873 set in 2012 by over 400 books.

Each of the library system’s eight branches collected books from Nov. 3 to Dec. 6, 2014. The annual appeal asks the public to donate new or gently used books to be given to children throughout the county.

The Christmas Holidays is usually a time when police departments have seen an increase of theft of packages from residences shortly after being delivered. This is not currently an issue at this time in Gloucester Township. UPS, Fedex and USPS packages are being stolen from front doorsteps and mailboxes. The victims are targeted by suspects who possibly follow the delivery trucks and steal the packages once the trucks leave the area. Listed below are several tips when getting packages delivered that could prevent you from being a victim of theft:

On Thursday December 4th 2014 at 2313 hours Mount Ephraim Police were dispatched to The \"6a00d8341bf7d953ef0154354a24bc970c-800wi\"ATM Machine at PNC Bank located at 205 North Black Horse Pike Mount Ephraim NJ 08059, for a report of an Armed Robbery. 

 

Upon arrival the victim reported that he parked his blue vehicle near the ATM machine. Then while conducting a transaction at the ATM he was approached by three (3) black male suspects.

Gloucester Township Woman Murdered; Reported Missing on Thursday

GLOUCESTER TOWNSHIP–Camden County Prosecutor Mary Eva Colalillo and Gloucester Township Police Chief Harry Earle reported today, Friday that a missing Gloucester Township woman has been found murdered. The body of Susan D. Johnson, F/59, was located by police in a wooded area near the 5000 block of Commonwealth Drive in Evesham Township, Burlington County. Investigators believe Johnson was fatally beaten sometime December 5 in her home on the first block of Skyline Drive in Gloucester Township and transported to the location where her body was found.

Susquehanna Bank to donate 147,000 meals to local food banks

Lititz, Pa. (Dec. 10, 2014) – With the help of its customers and social media fans, Susquehanna Bank has pledged to donate 147,000 meals to food banks in Pennsylvania, Maryland, New Jersey and West Virginia as part of its #30DaysofThanks campaign. 

The Lancaster County-based bank is donating 30 meals for each personal checking account opened in November, along with five meals for each like, share, retweet and comment on its \’Today I\’m Thankful for\’ posts on Facebook and Twitter last month. During Thanksgiving week, Susquehanna doubled its donations to 60 and 10 meals, respectively.
