Two decades ago, on November 22, 1994, a lone gunman entered the headquarters building of the Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) in Washington, D.C. and opened fire in a squad room, killing a police sergeant and two FBI agents. For those close to the fallen, who gathered today for a memorial service marking 20 years since the tragic event, it’s as if it happened yesterday.
\”Twenty years have passed, but our hearts are still heavy,\” said former FBI Director Louis J. Freeh, who headed the Bureau in 1994. \”Our hearts and memories still feel the pain of that day. It was a day that we will never forget and will always honor.\”

Gloucester Catholic High School registered a 20 to 13 victory
Joe Murphy_and_friends over Gloucester High last Saturday afternoon to capture its second City Series victory since the games began back in 1948. It was the third win of the year for Coach Jim Hopkins boys while for the senior-laden Gloucester High eleven it was their third straight setback.
Mike McNally and Carmen Palmiero received the annual Mustang awards as the outstanding players on their respective teams. McNally sparked the \”Ramblers\” first half attack while Palmiero was a constant star in the loser\’s game.
First Quarter
Gloucester kicked off to Catholic and the ball was returned from the 20 to the 23. Mike Angelastro made four yards and Miller fumbled but recovered for a two-yard gain. George Gibison picked up a first down on the 33. Gloucester was penalized five yards for delay and McNally\’s five-yard pick up gave the Ramblers\” a first on the 43. Gibison fumbled but Carl Schoenborn recovered for a five-yard loss.
Angelastro regained the five and McNally skirted the flank for 12 yards to the Gloucester 42. After Gibison had picked up a yard McNally again went wide for a first down on the 12. Miller fumbled but recovered for no gain. Gibison raced down

The New Jersey Department of Health is reminding residents to be aware of the dangers of eating wild mushrooms.
Wild mushrooms often look like harmless edible mushrooms but are poisonous. Even a few bites of these mushrooms can cause severe illness such as intense vomiting and diarrhea, damage to vital organs and in some cases can cause death,
\”Since there is no easy way to tell the difference between poisonous and harmless mushrooms, the best advice is not to eat wild mushrooms,\” said New Jersey Health Commissioner Mary E. O\’Dowd. \”Even experienced mushroom pickers can be fooled at times, so this warning needs to be given and taken seriously. Children should be taught never to put wild plants, berries, nuts, or mushrooms into their mouths. And keep in mind pets are susceptible to mushroom poisoning as well.\” To escape from the

Ben Boyer carried 42 times for 294 yards and scored four touchdowns to lead Gloucester City to a 34-14 victory over Gloucester Catholic yesterday in Gloucester City.
Boyer finished the season with 1,841 rushing yards, 168 shy of the school-record 2,009 yards accumulated by Mike Blankenship in 2001. Boyer had touchdown runs of 28, 73, 3 and 8 yards for Gloucester City (5-5). With the victory, Gloucester City tied the all-time Thanksgiving Week series between the two schools at 18-18 (there has been one tie).
Elliott McCummings had two touchdown runs of 6 and 80 yards for Gloucester Catholic (3-7).

More than 82 percent of the hunters participating Pennsylvania’s 2014 elk hunt have taken home a trophy.
The Pennsylvania Game Commission today announced 88 elk were taken by hunters during the regular one-week elk season that ended Nov. 8. And for those licensed to hunt antlered elk, also known as bulls, the success rate was 93 percent.

The New Jersey Department of Health today issued a permit to Breakwater Alternative Treatment Center (ATC) in Cranbury Township, Middlesex County to begin growing medicinal marijuana.
The permit was issued after a comprehensive review including several site inspections, background checks of its corporate officers and a review of its security operations and cultivation facility. This is the fourth ATC given a permit to cultivate medicinal marijuana by the Department.

TRENTON – Acting Attorney General John J. BROOKLAWN NJ (November 22, 2014)–There was a fire Saturday morning at Motel 6, (Rt. 130) in the rear of the motel. The fire, which started around 11:40AM, was brought under control by the Brooklawn Fire Department within minutes after they arrived. The cause is not known.
