Your Money: $1.7 Billion Approved for Highway and Transit Projects in New Jersey

\"ArticleThe DVRPC Board has approved $1.7 billion in funding for major highway and public transit investments in Burlington, Camden, Gloucester, and Mercer counties with the adoption of the DVRPC FY2014 Transportation Improvement Program (TIP) for New Jersey. The TIP lists all transportation projects that are federally and state funded, as well as those that are regionally significant. Each of these projects must be drawn from the long-range plan and serve to implement its goals. The list is multi-modal, and includes 130 highway, transit, bicycle, pedestrian, and freight-related projects for fiscal years 2014-2017 worth $1.7 billion (an average of $437 million per year). The total is comprised of almost $904 million for highway system

HOUSTON — At any one time, an estimated 2.9 million children have a parent who has, or has had, cancer.

Dozens of studies show that many of these children experience worry and stress, but that good communication can ease their fears and isolation, even up to the point of a parent’s death. Still, figuring out what to tell the kids – and when – is not an easy decision, and many parents who have cancer get little to no advice from their doctors about how to handle it.

Operation Cross Country Recovering Victims of Child Sex Trafficking

Operation Cross Country—a three-day nationwide enforcement action focusing on underage victims of prostitution—has concluded with the recovery of 105 sexually exploited children and the arrests of 150 pimps and other individuals.

The sweep took place in 76 cities and was carried out by the FBI in partnership with local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies, and the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) as part of the Bureau’s Innocence Lost National Initiative. It is the seventh and largest such enforcement action to date.
