TRENTON – Acting Attorney General John J. Hoffman announced that a man was indicted today on charges including attempted murder for allegedly firing a handgun at a crowd at a party at a home in Woodbine last year. The man allegedly pointed the gun at two state troopers who responded to the gunfire, causing one of the troopers to fire at him. No one was hit by any of the gunfire.

GLOUCESTER CITY NJ (February 25, 2001)–On October 14, 2010, two officers in the Gloucester City (Camden County) Police Department agreed to pay $45,000 to a Woodbury man who sued them for allegedly falsely arresting and using excessive force against him.

In his suit, Reginal Gaines, a 45 year old, African American man, said that on July 7, 2006 he was pulled over by Gloucester City Police Officer James Little for \”not having a tag light and for failing to use a turn signal.\” Gaines claims that Little, without provocation, sprayed mace in his face and eyes.

$\"IMG_1880\"$ WHO KNEW?—On Friday when we were checking out Freedom Pier, King Street, and the Delaware River, we discovered the Gloucester City Fire Department’s water rescue boat tied up at the dock next to the North Wind Schooner. Fire Marshall Pat Hagan, Department spokesperson said on Monday that the Camden City Fire Department gave the boat to Gloucester in the spring of 2014.

\”It was free,\” said Hagan. \”It didn’t cost the City a dime.\”

The 10-year-old boat, a Sea Arc, is 27 ft -long and has two 200 horse Yamaha outboard motors. It is used for water rescue. The Fire Marshall said several firefighters are licensed to pilot the boat. Hagan said the boat has been dispatched several times in the past year.

NJDEP Division of Fish & Wildlife – Division To Stock Dog Training Areas in October

The NJDEP Division of Fish and Wildlife will stock eleven (11) Wildlife Management Area dog training areas prior to the November 7 opening of the pheasant/quail season. A change from past years is that pheasants will be stocked instead of quail as a cost-saving measure. The 880 pheasants are stocked for dog training purposes only and cannot be fired upon.

Another change this year is that dog training is now permitted on the Friday before the opening day of the small game season (Saturday, November 7). The information on page 70 in the Hunting Digest, noting the closure, is not correct.

CNB Hunting/Fishing Maryland: Four St. Mary’s County Men Charged with Striped Bass Poaching

$\"the$ MARYLAND–Four Lexington Park men were charged with poaching after a Maryland Natural Resources Police officer caught them with 42 undersized striped bass.

Francisco Morales Vallardes, 51, Douglas Francisco Morales, 34, Roberto Jesus Mejia Lopez, 33, and Oscar Saul Mejia Lopez, 35, were each charged with exceeding the daily catch limit of two striped bass and possession of undersized striped bass.

An officer observed a boat approach the St. George Island Bridge boat ramp without proper navigational lights at about 9 p.m. on Sept. 17. A man on shore ran to the boat to get a cooler and began to take it to a car in the parking lot.

The officer stopped the man and asked to inspect the cooler, which contained 42 striped bass ranging in length from 10 to 16 inches.

All four men are scheduled to appear in St. Mary’s District Court on Dec. 3. Each charge carries a maximum penalty of $1,000.
