The NJDEP Division of Fish and Wildlife is reminding saltwater anglers that the opening of summer flounder (fluke) season is this Saturday, May 7. DEP Commissioner Bob Martin signed the new regulations April 29.
The season runs from May 7 until September 25 with a limit of 8 fish at a minimum of 18 inches in length. This is positive news for anglers: the season is more than a month and half longer than last year when the limit was 6 fish.
