During last week’s Mount Ephraim Commissioners meeting, Andrew Gilmore announced that resident Brandon Libby will be on the game show \”Jeopardy\” on Thursday, January 12.

Commissioner Gilmore said this is the first time someone from Mount Ephraim will be on the show, and it will be exciting to see the outcome.

In other news, Mayor Joseph Wolk thanked the Fire Department and Celebration Committee, along with everyone else who participated in the Christmas Parade last month.

The Police Department reported 26 adult arrests in December. Some of the offenses include five for burglary, four for DUI and four for disorderly conduct. There was one juvenile arrest for shoplifting.

Calls received last month included nine for burglary, eight for criminal mischief, 13 for harassment and 21 motor vehicle accidents. Also, officers issued 149 motor vehicle summons, 27 of which were for moving violations.

Last month the Fire Department received 45 calls for the month, including 14 calls for mutual aid, eight motor vehicle accidents and six investigations.

In 2011 the Department responded to 442 fire assignments and logged just under 39,000 volunteer man hours.

Commissioner Bruce Greenwald said the Public Works Department kept busy last month responding to 10 sewer calls and repairing pot holes, among other tasks, all the while avoiding safety incidents and violations.

As the colder weather is now here, Commissioner

Greenwald reminded residents to park on the odd side of the street during and after snowfall if off street parking is not available.

This will allow easier access for snow removal and emergency vehicles, he said.

Mayor Wolk said work has begun on the 2012 municipal budget.

The next Commissioners meeting will be Thursday, February 2, at 8 p.m. in Borough Hall.
