Rachel Scott was the first victim of the Columbine High School shootings on April 20, 1999.
She had once said, \”I have this theory that if one person can go out of their way to show compassion, then it will start a chain reaction of the same.\”
To honor his daughter’s memory, Rachel’s father, Darrell, travelled the country using drawings and writings from Rachel’s diaries to show the need for a kinder, more compassionate nation. From that, \”Rachel’s Challenge\” began.
