(July 15, 2013) – More than 900 rowers and 2500 spectators took part in the 2013 Club National Championships at Cooper River Park. Vesper Boat Club swept the event with wins. The annual event is sponsored by Camden County and the Rutgers Alumni Rowing Team.
The Club National Championships returned to the Cooper River venue because of the success of previous events held there. Last year’s Club Nationals on the Cooper River became the largest event US Rowing had ever operated.
\”This is a wonderful event, one of many that use the Cooper River and the Camden County Boathouse for its regattas and races,\” said Camden County Deputy Freeholder Director Ed McDonnell. \”This is great for rowing and great for the local economy because of the number of rowers and their families who stay at area hotels, eat at our restaurants and patronize a number of our the County’s businesses.\”
