DOVER DELAWARE (May 15, 2015) /CNBNEWS.NET– More than 100 middle and junior high school students from 10 schools participated in Delaware’s 20th Annual Junior Solar Sprint Competition on Wednesday
at Dover International Speedway in Dover. DNREC’s Division of Energy & Climate organized the event to educate students about renewable energy and the environment through a creative and exciting competition.
Students designed and built model cars powered by solar photovoltaic cells and competed for trophies and the honor of having the fastest and best-designed cars in the state.
Schools taking part included: Beacon Middle School, Lewes; Central Middle School, Dover; H.B. DuPont Middle School, Hockessin; P.S. DuPont Middle School, Wilmington; Holy Cross School, Dover; Milford Middle School, Milford; Postlethwait Middle School, Camden; Providence Creek Academy, Clayton; Sanford School, Hockessin; Stanton Middle School, Wilmington; W.T. Chipman Middle School, Harrington; and Skyline Middle School and Springer Middle School, Wilmington.
