New Jersey Commission on Brain Injury Research Awards $6.3M in Grants For Brain Injury Research

TRENTON NJ May 8, 2015 (CNBNews.net)–New Jersey Health Commissioner Mary O\’Dowd announced today more than $6.3 million in grants for scientific research to develop treatments and cures for disabilities associated with traumatic brain injury. These grant awards are approved by the New Jersey Commission on Brain Injury Research.

In New Jersey, approximately 175,000 New Jersey residents suffer from traumatic injuries that damage the brain, and 12,000 new injuries occur each year that require inpatient or outpatient treatment. The economic consequences of physical disabilities due to traumatic brain injury are enormous.

Accused Murderer Denied Bail

WOODBURY NJ May 8,2015– Daron Trent (DOB 10/17/84), of Hamilton NJ, described as a known gang member and the accused murder of a 25-year-old Paulsboro man, today was denied in his request to be released from jail and placed on home electronic detention while undergoing surgery and rehabilitation.

Trent’s lawyer, Frank Trosky, did not specify the nature of Trent’s \”substantial medical condition,\” but said Gloucester County’s top correctional official agreed his treatment could not be addressed with Trent in jail. Therefore, Trosky said he was asking for a modification in his client’s $750,000 bail.
