New Jersey voters overwhelmingly oppose Christie’s practice of sticking taxpayers with the travel bills of the state police escorts who follow him on the political trail, according to a Monmouth University poll.

GLOUCESTER TOWNSHIP NJ–The Gloucester Township Police Department is proud to announce the retirement of Police K-9 Brutus. K-9 Brutus is a 9 year old German Shepherd who has loyally served his community and department alongside his handler Cpl. James Kaelin since December 2007.

K-9 Brutus was assigned with Cpl. Kaelin to the Patrol Bureau working as a nationally certified K-9 conducting narcotics scent work, numerous tracks, building clearings and other patrol duties. K-9 Brutus attended his K-9 training academy from September – December 2007. Cpl. Kaelin became a handler at the inception of the K-9 Unit in 1999. In addition to K-9 Brutus, Cpl. Kaelin has served with his first K-9 partner \”Atos\”.

\”I commend K-9 Brutus and Cpl. Kaelin for their dedication and commitment to the Gloucester Township Police Department and to the community of Gloucester Township. Together their actions helped protect many officers and helped apprehend some of our most dangerous criminals.\” said Chief Harry Earle.

K-9 Brutus, one of GTPD’s finest, will now be able to spend his days resting as a family pet with the Kaelin family.

NEWARK, N.J. – A Jersey City, New Jersey, man was sentenced today to 120 months in prison for selling 33 firearms to a confidential informant, U.S. Attorney Paul J. Fishman announced.

Bernardo Guzman, 26, previously pleaded guilty before U.S. District Judge Madeline Cox Arleo to an information charging him with one count of possessing firearms while being a previously convicted felon. Judge Arleo imposed the sentence today in Newark federal court.

Congress once again finds itself at dysfunction junction on finishing the bills that fund government in fiscal year 2016. It’s just their only major constitutionally-mandated annual duty, and with a September 30^th due date looming (Congress is gone from the end of the July to Labor Day) it’s pretty clear that they’re not going to finish the job. 

(July 16, 2015) Cape May Court House, New Jersey – Cape May County Prosecutor Robert L. Taylor announces that on July 10th, 2015, Arthur L. Hoyle, 39 years old of Wildwood, NJ was sentenced to fourteen years in State Prison by the Honorable John C. Porto, JSC.

This sentence is the result of a large scale narcotics investigation in 2008 by the Cape May County Prosecutor’s Office, the Drug Enforcement Administration, and several local agencies. This investigation targeted a large scale cocaine distribution network operating throughout Cape May County. During this investigation it was learned that Hoyle was the leader of a narcotics distribution network and also affiliated with the \”Blood\” street gang. Hoyle was sentenced to First Degree Distribution of Controlled Dangerous Substances.

Prosecutor Taylor stated that his office will continue to work hand in hand with the local municipalities along with State and Federal Agencies to target anyone associated with street gangs and drug distributors selling illegal controlled dangerous substances.
