Ronald V. Benko, of Bellmawr

Ronald V. “Ron” Benko of Bellmawr, NJ passed away the morning of November 23, 2025, with his family by his side. Born on December 24, 1934 in Camden, NJ to the late John D. and Bertha (Boguszewski) Benko. 

In 1952, Ron enlisted in the United States Marine Corps and proudly served his country, spending 2 years stationed in Korea, until his Honorable Discharge in 1960. There was never a time you would see Ron without wearing his Korean War Vet hat. He was a self-employed horse trainer and was a former member of the Local #322 Plumbers and Pipefitters Union in Winslow Twp., NJ. 

He is survived by his daughters, Vicky Ortiz (Ronald), Bonnie James; grandchildren, JohnNell, Danielle, Teddy, Benjamin, Jamie, Matthew and 8 great grandchildren including his fellow Marine, Nicholas as well as many nieces and nephews who will remember him fondly. In addition to his parents and siblings, Ron was preceded in death by his wife Jean E. (Antis) Benko, daughter Robbin Benko, granddaughter Ashley Pacitti and son in law Scott James.

Honoring Ron’s wishes, there will be no viewing, but friends and family are welcome to attend his celebration of life on Tuesday December 16, 2025, from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. at the Runnemede VFW. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Ron’s memory to: the Veterans Association or a local animal shelter.
