
Kyle Smith, 28, of Glassboro, was sentenced to 4 years in State Prison by the Honorable Kevin T. Smith, Friday for endangering the welfare of a child pursuant to a plea agreement.
According to documents filed in this case and statements made in open court: In July 2023, Franklin Township Police observed Smith, who was 25 years old at the time, in a public park with a 12-year-old female. An investigation found he had sent sexually explicit messages to the victim and had planned the meeting in order to have a sexual encounter.
He pled guilty to one count of third-degree endangering the welfare of a child. Smith will be placed on parole supervision for life and must register under Megan’s Law upon release from prison. A final sex offense restraining order will also be entered to protect the victim.
Prosecutor Johns credited the GCPO Special Victim’s and High-Tech Crimes Units, and the Franklin Township Police Department for the investigation that led to this sentencing.
