The Philadelphia Police Department’s Crash Investigation Division is currently investigating a fatal single-vehicle collision.
On Saturday, April 25, 2026, at approximately 5:20 PM, officers responded to a report of a motor vehicle accident on the 4800 block of Spruce Street.
Preliminary investigation indicate that the operator of a vehicle appeared to suffer a sudden medical emergency. This resulted in the driver of the vehicle striking a parked, unoccupied car.
The operator, identified as a 72-year-old male, was transported to Penn Presbyterian Medical Center where he was pronounced deceased at 6:05 PM.
The identity of the deceased is being withheld pending notification of next of kin. No other injuries were reported in connection with this incident.
The investigation remains active and ongoing with the Crash Investigation Division (CID). Further updates will be released as more information becomes available.
