BROOKLAWN, NJ (May 24, 2026)(CNBNews)–The Brooklawn Memorial American Legion Post 72 will be hosting their annual Memorial Day Service on Monday, May 25 at 10:00 AM at Veterans Park.

The Brooklawn Police Department proudly encourages residents, families, and community members to attend as we come together to honor and remember the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country.

Sherrill, Jain Announce NJDOT’s First Design-Build Contract Award

Governor Mikie Sherrill and New Jersey Department of Transportation (NJDOT) Commissioner Priya Jain today announced Agate Construction Company, Inc. and A. Servidone, Inc./B. Anthony Construction Corp. JV have been awarded a $47.7 million contract for the Department’s first Design-Build project, the Route 50 Bridge over Cedar Swamp Creek replacement project, located in Upper Township, Cape May County.

“When I took office, I made clear that we were going to do things differently and deliver for the people of New Jersey. That means taking more efficient, innovative approaches to modernizing our aging infrastructure. The Route 50 Bridge project reflects that, by replacing this critical connection to Cape May County and key coastal evacuation route through New Jersey’s first-ever Design-Build approach. By combining design and construction into one streamlined process, we’re cutting delays, lowering costs, and delivering this long-overdue upgrade faster for New Jerseyans.”

John Anthony Castrataro, 62, of West Deptford

On May 19th, 2026, at the age of 62, John passed peacefully at Cooper Hospital in Camden, NJ. Of West Deptford. Formerly a longtime resident Of Bellmawr.

Survived by his children, Lisa Castrataro, Nichole Castrataro, Christopher Lacovara, Anthony Lacovara and Desiree Beebe; grandchildren, Andre English, Lea English, Nicholas Lacovara, Giavonna Castrataro, Julia Wiggins, Brienna Lacovara, Salvatore Lacovara and Kye Sullivan; longtime partner, Bonny Tittermary; brother, Michael Castrataro III, and Lisa Liquori, as well as many nieces and nephews. John was predeceased by his parents, Michael Castrataro Jr. and Nancy Fortuna Castrataro, and his brother, Joe Castrataro.

John was a longtime auto mechanic and formerly owned and operated John’s Auto Clinic in Bellmawr. Above all else, John was a devoted Poppy to his cherished grandchildren and adored each and every one.

GTPD Missing Juvenile Male- Andre Streater, Jr. 5-23-2026

On May 22, 2026, at approximately 9:18 PM, 13 year old Andre Streater Jr., was reported missing. Andre was last seen at his residence in the Sicklerville Section of Gloucester Township.  Andre is believed to be wearing blue jeans, a black shirt, a black jacket, is approximately 5’5″ in height and 129 pounds in weight. He is a light skin black male with dark brown hair and brown eyes. The male frequents Camden City.
