Public Health Alert for Headcheese Deli Meat Products

The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) is issuing a public health alert for headcheese that may be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes (Lm). A recall was not requested because the products are no longer available for purchase. Headcheese is a ready-to-eat (RTE), pork deli meat product typically made from meat and seasonings that are cooked together and formed into a loaf or jelly-style product.

Juveniles Arrested for Home and Vehicle Burglaries

On Friday, May 8, 2026, at approximately 7:58 p.m., officers from the Gloucester Township Police Department (GTPD) were dispatched to the area of Pine Glen Drive in the Sicklerville section of Gloucester Township for the report of three juveniles burglarizing a residence and attempting to steal a vehicle.

An alert neighbor observed three subjects wearing ski masks enter a residence, immediately contacted police, and continued providing real-time information to responding officers. The three males exited the residence carrying numerous items and proceeded to a vehicle in an attempt to steal it and flee the area. The subjects entered the vehicle but were unsuccessful in starting it, causing them to flee on foot.


Responding officers located the suspects fleeing, pursued them on foot, and successfully took all three individuals into custody. The suspects were identified as juveniles, transported to GTPD Headquarters, charged on juvenile complaints, and remanded to a juvenile detention center.

Camden County Roadwork

Several roadway projects will be underway across Camden County during the week of May 11 to May 15. 

“Motorists should plan ahead to take alternate routes and give themselves plenty of time to get to their destinations,” said Commissioner Al Dyer, liaison to the Department of Public Works. “Also, remember that when you’re traveling through a construction area, please slow down and stay alert for crew members and debris.”

Camden

  • Crews will be working on River Avenue on Monday, May 11, and Tuesday, May 12, from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. There will be a full road closure between Federal Street & East State Street.

Missing Adult, Ahmed Algabri

The Camden County Police Department is looking for a missing adult from East Camden.

Ahmed Algabri, 30, has been reported missing from his home on the 2300 block of Federal Street. He is described as a Middle Eastern male, 5’5”, 165 pounds, with hazel eyes and black hair. He was last seen wearing a cream colored shirt, blue jeans and sandals and is known to frequent East Camden.

Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to call the CCPD tip line at (856) 757-7042.

BROOKLYN, N.Y. (PIX11)(Thursday, May 7, 2026) – New York City Police talked a person down from the ledge of a high-rise in Brooklyn after the person was experiencing a mental health crisis. 

Officers received a 911 call on Thursday at around 1:30 p.m. about a woman on the ledge of a high-rise in downtown Brooklyn, police said.

Rutgers–Newark Partners on Citywide Public Art Exhibition

Rutgers University–Newark has partnered with New Arts, a public arts studio at Express Newark, to present a citywide art exhibition featuring archival photographs of Newark in the 1980s created by the multidisciplinary artist Manuel Acevedo across the city’s five wards.

The exhibition will kick off with an opening program Tuesday, May 12, at 5:30 p.m. at 5 Linden Street in the Central Ward. Afterward, guests can attend a guided tour of installations throughout the city’s five wards, with transportation provided. The event will also include light refreshments and live music.

Roadwork Improvements on Blackwood-Clementon Road

Road improvements on Blackwood-Clementon Road at the Conrail railroad crossing are scheduled to be completed during the week of May 11 to May 15. On Monday and Tuesday, there will be lane shifts from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Overnight Thursday into Friday, there will be a full closure of Blackwood Clementon Road at the rail crossing from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m.  A detour route using Erial Road and West Brach will be posted.

“We know that this heavily traveled area is an area of concern for our residents, and we hope that this project, and other ongoing improvements to the intersection enhances the experience for drivers”, said Commissioner Al Dyer, liaison to the Department of Public Works. “We ask residents and commuters for their patience and cooperation as this project progresses.”
