Virtua Health Honored by NJHA and NJBIZ

Virtua Health has been recognized by two respected New Jersey organizations for improving access to care, advancing health equity, and delivering measurable benefits for patients and communities across the region.

The New Jersey Hospital Association (NJHA) selected Virtua as the recipient of its Healthy Neighbor Award for Oliver Station, an innovative housing-and-healthcare community in Camden that addresses housing insecurity and longstanding barriers to care.

Developed in partnership with The Michaels Organization, Oliver Station integrates affordable housing for adults age 55 and older with a full-service Virtua primary care practice – all on the same campus. This model addresses lack of transportation as a social determinant of health; Oliver Station residents can literally receive care next door.

Oliver Station also serves as a primary care option for members of the surrounding Camden neighborhoods. The site is accessible on foot, offers abundant parking, and is only one block away from the Ferry Avenue PATCO Station.

The NJHA selected Oliver Station as a scalable example of how hospitals can partner across sectors to address the social and economic factors that shape health, while strengthening long-term relationships with the communities they serve.

Virtua was also recognized by NJBIZ, which named Barry Graf, senior vice president of partnerships and business development, and Virtua Health Urgent Care as 2026 Health Care Heroes Award honorees.

The NJBIZ Health Care Heroes Awards celebrate individuals and organizations whose “leadership, innovation, and commitment to excellence are making a significant impact on health care delivery across New Jersey.”

Graf was recognized in the health care professional category for his leadership in expanding access to high-quality outpatient services and for building partnerships that strengthen Virtua’s ability to reinvest in community health. Over the course of his tenure, Graf has helped grow Virtua’s network of ambulatory surgery centers into a multi-state portfolio recognized nationally for quality and safety.

Virtua Health Urgent Care was honored in the ambulatory health care category for its commitment to accessible, patient-centered care in high-volume outpatient settings. The eight urgent care locations (plus a telehealth option) receive consistently strong patient feedback, including dozens of Google reviews each week.

The NJHA Award will be presented at the “Best at the Beach” awards ceremony this summer. NJBIZ will formally recognize its Health Care Heroes during an awards celebration later this year.
