Special traffic and parking advisory for the Fireworks on SUNDAY

Maple Shade High School parking and roadway restrictions…

The Maple Shade Police Department is advising all residents and guests that will be attending our Fireworks display of specific restrictions that will be in place for vehicular traffic and parking.

It is recommended that spectators park vehicles
 off-site and/or walk to the high school, if able.

Maple Shade High School parking lots will not be available for parking until after approximately 7:00 PM.

No unauthorized vehicles will be permitted in the lots prior to 7:00 PM. 
Spectators should not plan on pre-staging vehicles, or risk towing at owners’ expense.

All are reminded that no alcohol or smoking of any kind is permitted on school property. Violations may result in removal and/or criminal complaints.

*The main parking lot off of Frederick Ave will be available on a first come/first serve basis until full or otherwise closed.

*S. Clinton Ave side high school parking lots will be restricted to handicapped guests or otherwise authorized vehicles ONLY.

Access to all high school parking lots may be closed by 8:30 PM.
This will include some road closures and detours on S. Clinton Ave, Frederick Ave, Lippincott Ave, Thomas Ave and Gradwell Ave.


Martin Ave, between S. Coles Ave and W. Center Ave will be closed to all unauthorized vehicles and pedestrians beginning around 5:00 PM, through to the end of the event.

All are reminded to take note of posted no parking signs in and around the area that day.
Please be mindful of increased pedestrians in the area and follow all police and fire police direction.

The Maple Shade Township Fireworks Celebration is one of our community’s most anticipated events, bringing together residents, families, and visitors to celebrate our nation’s 250th Anniversary and enjoy an evening of patriotism, entertainment, and an exciting fireworks display.

The safety and well-being of everyone attending remains our highest priority. To help ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all, the Maple Shade Police Department will have an increased security presence throughout the event. Based on incidents that have occurred at similar gatherings in neighboring communities, additional safety measures will be in place and will be strictly enforced.

The Maple Shade Police Department maintains a zero-tolerance policy for disruptive, disorderly, or criminal behavior. Any individual who engages in conduct that threatens public safety, disturbs the peace, or violates any law will be subject to immediate enforcement action. Individuals engaging in unlawful conduct may be arrested and charged to the fullest extent permitted by law.

Police officers and event personnel reserve the right to direct any individual to leave the event if they are acting in a disruptive manner, refusing to comply with lawful instructions, or otherwise interfering with the safe enjoyment of the celebration. Any person who is directed to leave and subsequently returns to the property may be subject to arrest and prosecution for trespassing.

As this event is being held on Maple Shade School District property, attendees should be aware of the following security measures:

  • Backpacks are prohibited.
  • Face coverings designed to conceal identity are prohibited, except where required by law or for legitimate medical purposes.
  • Hooded sweatshirts may not be worn with the hood covering the head while on school property.
  • Any person entering school property with a bag or other carried item may be subject to a security screening or search.
  • Additional restrictions or prohibited items may be enforced as necessary to protect public safety.

Parents and guardians are strongly encouraged to remain with juveniles attending the event and should not leave children unattended.
 

For the thousands of residents and guests who view these fireworks each year and celebrate responsibly, we look forward to welcoming you for a memorable evening. For anyone considering attending with the intention of causing a disturbance, engaging in disorderly conduct, or violating the law, understand this clearly: such behavior will not be tolerated. The Maple Shade Police Department will take swift and appropriate enforcement action to protect the safety of our community.

This celebration is an opportunity for neighbors, friends, and families to come together in a safe, welcoming, and respectful environment. The Maple Shade Police Department and Township officials remain committed to ensuring that everyone who wishes to celebrate responsibly can do so safely and enjoyably.
