
The Philadelphia Police Department is actively investigating three separate incidents that occurred this afternoon, resulting in two fatalities and one injury. Investigations remain ongoing across multiple districts, and no motives have been established at this time.
In the first incident, police responded to the 5700 block of Boyer Street for reports of an injured male. Upon arrival, officers located a male victim suffering from visible blood and trauma to his chest. Officers immediately transported the victim to Albert Einstein Medical Center, where medical staff determined that he had sustained two gunshot wounds to the chest. The victim is currently listed in stable condition, and no arrests have been made. The investigation is ongoing with the Shooting Investigation Group.
Shortly after, at approximately 2:21 PM, officers from the 18th District responded to a violent altercation on the highway at the 700 block of S. 60th Street involving two individuals. Preliminary findings indicate that a 35-year-old male stabbed a 42-year-old male, who then drew a firearm and shot the 35-year-old multiple times. Both men were transported to Penn Presbyterian Medical Center, where the 42-year-old was listed in stable condition, and the 35-year-old was pronounced deceased at 3:00 PM. The crime scene is currently being held, and the investigation is being handled by the Homicide Unit.
Additionally, at approximately 2:00 PM, police responded to the 400 block of Ripka Street in the 5th District, where a male was found suffering from puncture wounds to his chest. Medic transported the victim to Einstein Hospital, where he was pronounced deceased at 2:45 PM. While no official arrests have been made, one male has been taken in for further questioning as the Homicide Unit continues its investigation.
