GLOUCESTER CITY, NJ (July 1, 2026)–The Gloucester City Celebrations Committee announced today, Wednesday, July 1, that after much deliberation, the City Food Trucks and Fireworks event WILL be held Thursday, July 2, as scheduled.
With the forecast of oppressive heat and humidity predicted for tomorrow and throughout the weekend, the GC Celebrations Committee together with our Office of Emergency Management and Mayor and Council have had long discussions about whether or not to hold tomorrow’s event. Please be assured that we took all factors into consideration.
The event will begin at 6 pm at Proprietors Park with a Huge Waterslide, a bungee and swing rides, and fun favors and gifts to enjoy America’s 250th Celebration, with Fireworks at dusk. Together with our event sponsors, Mayor and Council, Gloucester City Urban Enterprise Zone assistance, and PSE&G, we hope you will enjoy our event. As is for many of our neighboring communities, this was a difficult choice, as ensuring the health and safety of our participants and spectators alike is our highest priority. We urge all attendees to please take all precautions for your own safety. Food Trucks will have food for purchase, “Elsie’s” will be there with food and drinks for sale, and the GC Soccer Association will have drinks and snacks for sale on Freedom Pier.
Above all, it is most important that we stay hydrated, stay cool, and have a safe holiday weekend! Looking forward to seeing you!
