Critical Dirt Bike Crash in the 24th District
On Monday, July 13, 2026, at approximately 12:17 AM, a critical three-vehicle collision involving a dirt bike occurred on the 3800 block of North Delaware Avenue.
A preliminary investigation indicates that a black 2020 Yiben two-wheel motorcycle (dirt bike) was traveling southbound at a high rate of speed when it crossed over the double yellow centerline into the northbound lane. The dirt bike struck a northbound teal 2005 Chevrolet Cobalt head-on.
The force of the collision ejected the operator of the dirt bike approximately 100 yards from the initial point of impact, where he subsequently struck a white 2003 Honda CR-V that was parked and disabled on the shoulder due to a flat tire. The impact also propelled the dirt bike itself approximately 200 yards down the roadway. The operators of both the Chevrolet and the Honda remained at the scene. Philadelphia Fire Department Medics responded and transported the dirt bike operator to Temple University Hospital in critical condition with a fractured leg, numerous cuts and abrasions, and a serious head injury.
The Crash Investigation Division is leading the ongoing investigation.
