This month is a time to educate and raise awareness, support and empower survivors, recognize the progress being made to end domestic violence, and bring survivors, advocates, loved ones, and our community together to create change. When we speak up and stand together, we help create a safer community for everyone.
The Camden County Prosecutor’s Office Domestic Violence Unit investigates and prosecutes all indictable domestic violence incidents occurring throughout Camden County, as well as disorderly persons offenses involving violations of restraining orders.
A detective and an assistant prosecutor are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, to provide investigative assistance and legal guidance to law enforcement agencies responding to domestic violence incidents throughout the county.
The Domestic Violence Unit regularly participates in meetings of the State and Camden County Domestic Violence Working Groups, collaborating with law enforcement partners, the courts, and victim advocacy organizations to develop and implement best practices for serving victims of domestic violence.
The unit also provides training throughout the year to police departments, victim advocacy organizations, and professional groups on domestic violence-related issues and best practices.
