John Goodrich
On Saturday, October 31, 2026, at approximately 6:52 p.m., officers from the 24th Police District responded to a radio call for a report of a shooting on the 3600 block of Richmond Street.
Upon arrival, officers located 15-year-old Devin Davenport suffering from a single gunshot wound to the back. The victim was transported to St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children, where he was pronounced deceased at 7:06 p.m.
At approximately 7:13 p.m., officers responded to an additional radio call on the 3700 block of Richmond Street. Upon arrival, officers encountered 40-year-old John Goodrich Jr. outside a residence. Goodrich was taken into custody without incident, and a firearm was recovered.
Goodrich was subsequently arrested and charged with Murder and related offenses.
A motive has not been determined at this time. The investigation remains ongoing with the Philadelphia Police Department’s Homicide Unit.
