GLOUCESTER — Kiersten Hughes, a former standout athlete and recent assistant coach, has been appointed varsity head softball coach for Gloucester Catholic’s Lady Rams, Athletic Director Pat Murphy has announced.

Ms. Hughes, a highly regarded Lady Rams’ assistant for 4 years, takes over for former coach Tom Sullivan, who stepped down following the 2014 season. She brings a long and successful history as an athlete and coach into her new position as the leader of one of South Jersey’s top scholastic softball programs.
At Arcadia University, she was a 4-year starting pitcher ending her career with conference honors, second in all-time pitching wins, and selected as South Jersey Girls Softball Association College Player of the Year in 2009.
